Students Explore Medical Careers
Posted on 11/25/2025

On Friday, November 14th, nearly 30 Windham High School students interested in pursuing careers in medicine had the opportunity to explore the wide range of pathways available within the healthcare field. Students attended the Parkland Medical Center/HCA Career Expo, an immersive learning experience designed to introduce high school learners to the many disciplines, roles, and skills that contribute to modern patient care.

During the event, students circulated through six interactive stations that represented major areas of the hospital. Across these stations, they engaged with more than 19 different hospital departments—ranging from emergency medicine and nursing to radiology, laboratory science, rehabilitation, behavioral health, nutrition services, and more. In total, students learned about over 30 distinct careers and job functions within the medical field.

Throughout the expo, staff from Parkland Medical Center shared demonstrations, hands-on activities, and personal insights about their work and professional journeys. Students gained a deeper understanding of the training, education, teamwork, and dedication required to succeed in healthcare careers.

The Career Expo provided an invaluable opportunity for Windham students to ask questions, make connections, and envision potential future pathways in medicine. Windham High School is grateful to Parkland Medical Center and HCA Healthcare for hosting this informative and engaging event and for supporting the next generation of medical professionals.
